The DesignVision 2088 Competition challenges designers to imagine the most popular color palette 75 years from now. While I’m assuming that it’ll all be tangerine and teal polka dots everywhere you look in the future, but feel free to use your imagination!
This contest is an excellent design exercise, consider how tastes change drastically over the course of a decade, and then put yourself in the timeframe of 75 years to create and name a color palette of the year 2088. Once you’ve developed a color scheme that the Jetsons would love, show off your futuristic colors by drawing, painting, digitally rendering or even by utilizing 3D printing to demonstrate how the palette would appear in an interior design scenario.
To summarize, you’ll need to bring together the color palette of the year 2088, name the color palette and/or its individual colors and include an impressive visual rendering of your color scheme in an interior scene.

You futurists should get a move on though, as you only have until October 18th, 2013 to submit your entries to The DesignVision 2088 Competition. The Grand Prize Winner and a guest will be flown to New York City to enjoy the 2013 Interior Design Hall of Fame Gala on December 4, 2013, and a special “Fan Favorite” selected by Robert Allen’s Facebook fans will be selected to win $275 of credit for Robert Allen Fabric.
