If you’re an architect or interior designer with a preference for ceramic tiles made in Spain, you could win big for your handiwork!
The premise if simple: If you’ve completed an architectural or interior design project that utilizes ceramic floor and/or wall tiles manufactured from Spanish companies in the formal area of the building between January 2011 and October 2013, then you may enter your project into the running. The competition is open to anyone in any nation who has built something meeting the basic standards, so if you regularly work with ceramic tile, be sure to double-check where it was made!
The contest has a single first-place winner for both categories:
Architecture: new buildings, renovation or refurbishment of existing buildings and interventions in urban redevelopment or outdoor landscapes”
Interior design: decoration of interior spaces in new buildings, as part of improvement or refurbishment projects, or installations created for short term events.
To submit your tile-based design into the Tile of Spain Awards, you will need to write a description of the project, five to eight PDF images, any related construction drawings (plans/details/sections/etc.) and a registration form that can be downloaded here.
Both winners will earn 17,000 Euros (as sponsored by Vodafone and Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia) for their exceptional work and use of ceramic tile, so with such a narrow contest, it really could be anyone’s game! You have until October 29th, 2013 to submit your work to the Tile of Spain Awards, so get cracking!
