Sleep tracking now includes Bedtime Guidance, recommending ideal sleeping windows based on circadian rhythm and health metrics. The new Running Coach offers personalized training plans, starting with a 12-minute assessment and adapting over time with real-time feedback. The watches adopt a “cushion” design, with a round screen inside a squircle frame.
The Classic keeps the rotating bezel, while the Ultra’s remains static. Despite preferences for sleeker designs, the new form factor is slimmer and more comfortable, improving sensor-to-skin contact for better health tracking accuracy. One UI 8 software offers a refreshed user experience with simplified navigation and quick access to frequently used apps.
The watches debut Google’s Gemini AI assistant for more complex and contextual commands. The Galaxy Watch 8 has an 8% larger battery than its predecessor, promising improved battery life. The Classic model has a 445 mAh battery, less than the Ultra’s 590 mAh but still a significant upgrade.
Storage has doubled to accommodate more apps and data. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic blend nostalgic design elements with pioneering health features, making them strong contenders in the smartwatch market.
