Set in the land of Shu during the Ming Dynasty, this soulslike action RPG puts players in the role of Wuchang, a pirate warrior who battles monstrous enemies while navigating temples, ruins, and shadowed paths. Critics have been more positive about the game, with Jessica Cogswell giving it an 8/10.
New review! Some pretty wild dips and spikes in difficulty aside, I had a good time with Wuchang Fallen Feathers, another great soulslike to add to the ever growing pile. https://t.co/oujvkIGBQK

She wrote, “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a great experience filled with far more satisfying battles than frustrating ones, wonderful ideas, and truly gorgeous locations.”
Madness (Inner Demon) is a key mechanic in the game. Players gain Madness by dying or killing human enemies.
Wuchang player surge despite issues
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a good game with plenty of unique aspects but the boss battles feel a uneven and unfair due to the fact that it's so hard to stagger them. And that makes it difficult to pull off the flashy combos that I've seen in the trailershttps://t.co/Y1RLk8f2ZI

As Madness increases, various effects are unlocked:
At 50% Madness, Wuchang’s eyes turn red and Madness-related skill nodes activate. Players lose slightly more Red Mercury upon death. At 90% Madness, players deal and take more damage.
They lose even more Red Mercury when dying but gain additional Red Mercury from slaying foes. At 100% Madness, Wuchang gains a demonic mark, deals and takes the most damage, and loses much Red Mercury upon death. An Inner Demon is summoned that the player must duel after dying.
Defeating the Inner Demon resets Madness and restores lost Red Mercury. To reduce or cure Madness, players can kill Feathered enemies, defeat the Inner Demon, or donate items to Shu Statues found throughout the game. The Invoke Menu at Shrines also allows players to invoke Madness in exchange for needed items, using Madness Points displayed in the menu’s top right corner.
