It’s 2015, and honestly, I expected things to be more futuristic. You’ve let me down, Earth. Flying cars, sentient robots, you know, those kind of things. Well, sadly, we’re just not there yet, but thanks to this incredibly easy phone hack you can have one futuristic thing today, 3d holograms projecting from your phone. Now, don’t expect Princess Leia projecting out of R2D2, but it’s not a bad substitute while we wait for that tech.
It’s actually pretty simple to do and the video does a pretty good job of showing you the steps. But wait! Before you go all gung ho, make sure you have all the necessary supplies.
You’ll need:
- – Graph paper
- – A jewel case (DVD or CD)
- – Super glue (tape also works, but doesn’t look as good)
- – Scissors
- – a pen
- – Glass cutter (a sharp knife or razor will also suffice)
- – Your smartphone (obviously)
If Do-It-Yourself projects aren’t your thing, you could always buy one, there are some available for iPhone, iPad, and Android (honestly, there is no real difference in any of them), but if getting your hands (figuratively) dirty sounds appealing, then definitely check out the video below for the guide on how to make your very own 3D projector.
You’re not going to be turn any video into a hologram, however, it just simply will not work so you’ll have to search out videos that are meant to be projected. Here is a good place to start.
